This is because the electrode wire used is unidirectionally moving, and the loss of the electrode wire during the processing can be compensated by continuous wire feeding, which can maintain the processing accuracy well. Therefore, it is suitable for processing precision molds and parts, such as high-precision stamping molds.
2. Good processing quality, slow wire cutting can achieve excellent surface quality, with uniform and delicate processing patterns. The surface smoothness of the processed parts and molds is high, and almost no subsequent surface grinding or secondary processing is required to meet most precision machining needs.
3. The cutting thickness range is wide, and the material thickness range that can be cut is relatively large, ranging from a few millimeters to several hundred millimeters. For example, some thick plate molds can be processed using slow wire cutting. It can still ensure good cutting accuracy and surface quality when cutting thick materials.
4. Complex shapes can be processed through programming, including parts and molds with sharp corners, narrow gaps, inner contours, etc. For example, for some injection molds with complex internal cooling channels, slow wire cutting can effectively complete the channel cutting.
5. High degree of automation, combined with CNC programming technology, slow wire cutting machine tools can achieve automated processing. Operators only need to input the machining program into the machine control system, and the machine can automatically complete cutting and machining, and can work for a long time without human supervision, greatly improving machining efficiency and production automation.
